My Comeback Story: Jeffrey K.
Two years ago, on February 14, 2023, I decided to get a full knee replacement. When I was 19 years old, I was in a bad motorcycle accident. A car pulled out in front of me, and I collided with the car. My ACL was torn, but not completely. The driver of the car had no insurance, and at the time, I had no medical insurance. After being released from the hospital, I had to pay cash to be seen by a medical doctor. My ACL was still attached, but the stability in my knee was very weak, causing the meniscus to wear quickly. The knee popped out of place regularly. I couldn't run or jump, and holding a job was difficult due to the constant pain in my knee. I was introduced to Dr. Hoffman by a friend of mine who worked at the airport where Dr. Hoffman flew his plane. With no insurance at the time, the only option I had was to strengthen the knee. I began doing my own rehab in a local gym and started cycling. Between the two activities, my knee began to get stronger. Over time, the knee was wearing out. New technology came out with press-fit knees. It's been two years now, and I'm back in the gym bodybuilding. I'm bicycling about 50 miles a week. The pain in my knee is gone. I just completed my first Bix 7 Road Race. Although I power walked the 7-mile event, it was a major accomplishment for me. I can't thank Dr. Hoffman and his staff enough for a second chance at accomplishing my goals and relieving the pain and suffering I went through for years. Thank you, Dr. Hoffman.
