The x-ray is a time-tested method of diagnosing bone fractures and other internal conditions of the body. Electromagnetic waves are sent through your body under our advanced x-ray technology. The energy cannot pass through concentrated matter, such as bone, which causes these areas to be highlighted. The energy can, however, pass through soft tissues, resulting in an obvious visual contrast in your internal structure. This allows our doctors to detect a number of irregularities, such as a broken bone, by seeing unnatural spacing between sections of bone displayed on the film. As a result, they can create a customized, accurate treatment plan designed to improve your condition.

Also known as magnetic resonance imaging, the MRI provides high quality images of your bones and tissues. During an MRI, radio waves are pulsed to the area of concern, causing your tissues to vibrate (the procedure is completely painless). Our computer software records the rate of vibration, providing a detailed image of abnormal tissue changes. This provides our orthopaedic specialists with the necessary information to identify a variety of problems with near pristine clarity, including tears in your ligaments, cartilage, rotator cuffs, and many other conditions.

Orthotics addresses foot-related problems to relieve pain in the ankles, knees, hips, and even the lower back. They are shoe inserts put into place to help correct your balance and improve the way you walk or run. The way your foot strikes the ground can affect your entire body, and if you have an imbalance, you will most likely need customized support. Whether you need to treat joint problems caused by demanding athletic performances or simple everyday movement, our custom-made orthotics can provide relief to your sore body and even reduce the risk of future injury.

Occupational and Physical Therapy

Our orthopaedic professionals provide both occupational and physical therapy to strengthen weak areas of the body, which is especially necessary after a patient undergoes surgery. Our therapists are trained in the limitations of the body following specific procedures and adjust your therapy accordingly. By attending physical therapy, you promote proper healing while improving your body’s biomechanics for pain-free movement. It is an essential step in the recovery process. Both occupational and physical therapy can be useful as a non-surgical treatment option for a variety of orthopaedic conditions.
